FLIPP: Blow It Out Your Ass!
From the first track, "Rockstar," it is readily apparent that Minneapolis' most lovable wham-bam-glam rockers are out to have fun - to the point where they come off as a parody of themselves and of punk rock itself. That's the good news. Only problem is, with such ferocious outfits as Tsar and American Hi Fi out there doing the glammy guitar thing, Flipp too often sound generic throughout this Beasties-'Mats-KISS TV party. Still, such headbangers as "Oh Yeah" and "Cock Rock" are impossible to resist, as is the set's defining moment: When Brynn Arens howls, "We don't wanna change the world/We just wanna trash the place."
