Fan Section Concert Review
Teenage Rampage 2001 | Bravo

I arrived right at the begining to catch all the acts, and got in for free (compliments of City Pages). I hung out for about 15 minutes and then [Maxximum Kapacity] came on. Crowd was small at this time but still enough to party. These boys were okay, the lead singer had a good voice for punk, but there style was a little too close to Blink 182 and kind of scared me away (when it comes to punk I like the stylings of Bad Religion and Rancid much more). They did play some Vanilla Ice which I thought was great. Me and my friend couldn't stop laughing for a few minutes.

The next 2 bands I really didn't enjoy. There both going for that hardcore angry rock that I have a hard time setting my watch to. See I like Flipp because they are fun and they put on great show, but these guy had a real hard time working the crowd and they both seemed to be a little too full of angst. I just sat in the corner talking to my friend and watching the weird shit that TV Land was showing on the tv. Oh well, the show went on.

Then Faux Jean came on. Wow, that's all I can say. From the moment when they walked out in there matching suits I knew these boys would be good. I thought there act was a HUGE breath of fresh air after the last two bands. There uppity B-52's esque rock was really somthing diffrent. I enjoyed it alot. I can see how the members of Flipp would enjoy them, Because if you strip both bands down and really look at them, there very similar. Anyway I had a really good time when Faux Jean came on.

Then the big act came, Flipp. Great Show. What more can I say? I was in the front getting the crap kicked out of me and yelling all the lyrics as loud as I could, it was great. I GOT BATTLE SCARS. Seriously, I walked away from Flipp with a black eye and lots of sore spot, and it was worth it. The crowd was pumped, the energy was there, and our boys of Flipp knew how to use it. They can work a crowd so we'll, nothing compares. Alot more crowd surfing than at the CD release, but who am I to argue. Flipp was, as always, the real star of the show. My hat goes of to them. By the end of the there act I was so hot and so sweaty that I didn't dry off 'till I got home, which was about one hour latter. Great Show.

A little side note. I picked up my Flipp X-mas Cd and was really pleased. I thought it was really cool that they were signed, song was good fun.

Anyway I had a blast, The show ran longer than I thought it would which was very cool. Now it's time to start thinking about a road trip to Iowa.
